Careful readers of a very brief item in a recent issue of The New York Times may have been a little startled to learn that the latest addition to the Times editorial board is a 26-year-old prodigy named Daniel Altman. He succeeds Michael Weinstein, whose editorials on issues such as managed care, trade, and regulation had a relentlessly pro-market orientation.
