"[I WAS] DISCUSSING THE images from liberated Afghanistan of women throwing off their veils and feeling the sun on their faces for the first time in years," Andrew Sullivan wrote recently on his Web site regarding the plight of women in Afghanistan. "How could anyone have believed that these women actually wanted to live like that?" More importantly, can you believe Andrew Sullivan is writing about it? After all, Sullivan, the former editor of The New Republic, is not exactly known for his enthusiasm for feminist-left causes.
