IN MICHAEL TOMASKY'S "Who is Roger Hertog?" [May 6, 2002], New York Sun editor Seth Lipsky informs us that it was from Forward's offices that Jay Lovestone sent the newspaper's money to Irving Brown, who supported anti-Communist segments of the European labor movement, including Solidarity. It was Forward, then, that "literally won the Cold War."
