Park wars. (Correspondence).

THANK YOU FOR JON MARGOLIS' excellent "Park Wars" [Sept. 9]. It's too bad that the national media simply doesn't get the issue, or chooses to ignore its larger implications. I do, however, have two comments.

Margolis should look closer at the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA doesn't protect the environment so much as it protects due process for the public. Our federal agencies have made a mockery of NEPA. Case in point: the Yosemite Valley plan. It doesn't protect the environment but sets the stage to redevelop Yosemite Valley, which is projected to ...
