WorldCom's officers built a corporate edifice out of deception, greed and outright fraud--and it should simply be torn down. In the interests of stakeholders and the general public--and most especially the thousands of WorldCom employees who have either lost their jobs or their retirement savings, or both, because of management's corrupt conduct--it would be much better to sell off its pieces to more responsible companies than to allow WorldCom to emerge from bankruptcy to prey upon the marketplace once again.
