Herrera's winning hand. (Correspondence).(Letter to the Editor)

JAMES B. GOODNO'S RECENT article, "Herrera's Winning Hand: A new kind of Nevada calls for a new kind of Democrat" [Nov. 18], did a disservice to the Prospect and to liberalism generally. Herrera lost by 57 percent to 38 percent in a district almost evenly split between Democrats and Republicans--a margin that suggests that "Herrera's winning hand" was next to nonexistent in the last several months.

Goodno writes about the polls showing Mr. Herrera down and how he had reduced the spread. He quotes no one in Las Vegas who studies or writes about politics ...
