Not content to stack the courts with Old Testament judges, the Bush administration has moved on to appointing faith healers at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The president recently plunked Dr. W. David Hager, author of As Jesus Cared for Women: Restoring Women Then and Now, onto the FDA Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs, which oversees the regulation of birth-control pills, the morning-after pill and mifepristone (RU-486).
