FIRST, DONALD RUMSFELD calls Germany and France "the old Europe" in comparison with dynamic Poland and Italy, whose leaders have offered support to the Bush administration for its war. (Actually, polling shows public opinion in Poland and Italy--not to mention Britain--to be about as anti-war as public opinion in France and Germany, but Poland and Italy are so dynamic that their leaders have been freed from any sense of accountability to their citizens.)
