GARANCE FRANKE-RUTA'S essay "The Indentured Generation" [May] really got my attention. I am among the indentured, with student-loan payments at $600 per month for my BEA and incomplete MFA (I could not afford to complete it) at state universities. I was working while attending school, but the wages did not come close to covering my needs.
