THANK YOU FOR PRINTING Ayelish McGarvey's nuanced and open minded article about "freestyle evangelicals" ["Reaching to the Choir," April 2004]. I have sometimes felt alienated by the raw secularism that is often, probably un wittingly, incorporated into your pages. I am not an evangelical in the usual sense of the term, but I identify strongly with the mission of applying Christ's teachings to the public sphere.
