Just wondering.(Correspondence)(Letter to the Editor)

I WAS MOST IMPRESSED BY Clay Risen's essay concerning executive orders, "The Power of the Pen" [August]. I have an expansive suggestion. The two most disastrous laws that Congress has passed since the Bush administration came to power are the tax cuts and the Medicare prescription-drug "benefit," which most senior citizens shun, recognizing that the real purpose of the law is to use taxpayer dollars to subsidize the pharmaceutical companies.
