IN REGARD TO YOUR recent article by Robert S. McIntyre ["They Make It Up. You Decide." April], I do realize that you are nonprofit organization, but surely you have accountants on staff who can tell you that corporate financial statements do not include actual tax payments to the U.S. Treasury (as they appear on the tax confidential tax returns). Disclosure rules have certainly changed over the years, but there is still no way to accurately pull the actual tax amounts from the financial statements. Yet, you have allowed Mr. McIntyre to state otherwise in your magazine.
