IN "THE DEATH AND LIFE of American Liberalism" [June 2005], Robert Kuttner states that in the 2004 election, "dozens of Democratic members of the House and Senate ran 20 and even 25 points ahead of John Kerry." This is not true. According to preliminary data compiled by POLIDATA, only two Democratic senators (Byron Dorgan and Evan Bayh) and 17 Democratic representatives ran at least 20 points ahead of Kerry.
