From the nation's earliest classrooms to the contemporary schools of the twenty-first century, educators have had the professional responsibility to practice effective classroom management. However, our first-hand experiences working in schools and with practicum and student interns have convinced us that classroom management continues to be a major concern of educators. Especially in middle and high schools, educators continue to try to identify strategies to work with students who lack discipline, disrupt the teaching-learning process, and limit teachers' effectiveness. Unfortunately, problems with classroom management have caused some qualified educators to leave the profession.
