OECD Drafting Recommendations on Evaluating Safety of Industrial Facilities--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Emergency Preparedness and Prevention is helping to develop international guidance for the chemical industry on the use of indicators to determine whether specific programs or regulations are effective in preventing chemical emergencies, an EPA official said Dec. 11.

Reportedly, the guidance is being developed with member countries of the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as some international industry representatives.
