Observations of Bullying in the Classroom.

Research on students who bully others reveals both social and environmental influences. Video and audio recordings showed incidents of bullying occurred approximately twice each hour, with no gender differences in instigation. Peer involvement occurred in 85% of the incidents. While bullying is peer-oriented, other contributing factors include individual traits of the children and the type of classroom activity they are engaged in.
