GSC Logistics expands crossdock operation. (Logistics).(Brief Article)

GSC Logistics, a Hayward, CA-based third-party logistics provider, has expanded its crossdock facility because of a sharp increase in consolidation. Since the beginning of the year, the company reports it has already realized a 30% rise in crossdock consolidation over 2001. The growth is a reflection of increased import/export activity on the West Coast, as well as better awareness of the advantages of crossdock consolidation and supply chain collaboration.
GSC plans to enhance its operations with 125,000 square feet of additional crossdock space by the end of the second quarter. The company is also considering adding another 125,000 square feet of crossdock space by the first quarter of 2003. Throughout the year, GSC will also expand its...
