Salt Lake City -- The Naval Air Systems Command has signed a $10.8 million, three-year contract with EVANS & SUTHERLAND COMPUTER CORP. Work on the "Rapid Database Generation Research Initiative" will be performed at the company's Salt Lake headquarters, in conjunction with San Diego-based Photon Research Associates (PRA), which will provide imagery and image processing support.
Exploration Place, an interactive creative learning center in Wichita, Kan., has purchased E&S's digital all-dome imaging system, Digistar 3, for its Boeing CyberDome Theater.
