WE ALL KNOW HOW difficult it can be to install a new warehouse management system. The long and tedious process has been the cause of many a migraine for countless warehouse managers. Just ask Bruce Burgin, who recently oversaw the installation of a new WMS for Owens Corning, in Toledo, Ohio.

The challenge faced by Burgin and the members of his WMS selection team at Owens Corning was an ominous one -- how do you take a list of 26 software vendors who look good on paper, and narrow the list down to the one who can best roll out its warehouse management system in 25 warehouses over three years?
