Friendship Award.(Front & center: a reading of people, places, and projects)

Richard Anthes, president of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), was recently honored with China's Friendship Award. The award, given by the Chinese government, is the highest honor a foreigner can receive. Anthes is the first atmospheric scientist to earn the distinction.
