Randy Cerveny is a professor of geography at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He started his studies at the University of Nebraska as an engineering major but found geography more appealing and changed his major. Cerveny received a B.S., M.A., and Ph.D. in geography from Nebraska. After participating in the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Research Program, Cerveny began teaching geography and climatology at Arizona State. He was recently awarded the university's President's Professor Award in recognition of his enthusiasm and innovation in teaching. Cerveny is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Association of American Geographers, the National Space Society, the Explorers Club, and is a consulting editor for Weatherwise magazine....
