As a flurry of vendors continue to debut completed releases of applications supporting XML, a number of XML-based standards efforts are still underway.

The Document Object Model

One standards initiative comes from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Document Object Model (DOM) Working Group, which at press time was reviewing the proposed recommendation of Level One of the Document Object Model (http://www.w3.org/DOM/).
