Phoenix AIA chapter is first to build its own offices. (American Institute of Architects)

Design of the 2,600-sq. ft. building was selected from entries submitted by chapter members The downtown Phoenix headquarters of the Central Arizona Chapter of AIA (CAC/AIA) represents the first time an AIA chapter has constructed from scratch the building it occupies. The 2,600-sq. -ft. structure also spearheads the revitalization of the Roosevelt Historic District, a deteriorated residential section of the city.

According to Logan Van Sittert, CAC/AIA building committee chairman, the decision to build was based on basic business sense, as well as community concerns.
