The AIA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have signed a "major partnering agreement" to promote the mutual interests of the two groups. Among their objectives: promoting excellence in architecture and expanding the Corps' adaptation of private sector initiatives. The arrangement marks a significant breakthrough in our relationship with the Corps," said AIA vice president/president elect Chester A Widom.
"The future direction of the construction industry will be based on ... true partnerships."
