In the last 10 years, sports players and franchises have gained enormous power in America's conscious -- such power that cities are clamoring to host or keep teams by building new arenas.
As a result, operators of older arenas often have difficulty finding new uses for the facilities once franchises move on. That won't be a problem for suburban Landover, Md.'s US Airways Arena.
