Laboratories are complex structures in comparison to typical office buildings or other commercial structures, and each lab has needs that are unique to its purpose. The U.S. EPA's New England Regional Laboratory in North Chelmsford, Mass., performs tests on a variety of environmental factors: air, water, sediment, and toxic waste, as well as field investigations and monitoring and quality assurance.
