INTEREST IN OUTSOURCING by the pharmaceutical industry is heating up. About 100 executives from more than 60 companies packed a conference room at a recent IBC USA Conferences Inc. symposium in Coral Gables, Fla. Attendees spent two days absorbing information and advice on why and how to outsource.

Highlights included presentations by Mova Pharmaceutical, Schering-Plough and Pfizer. The keynote presentation was made by Carlos Del Rio, the COO at Mova Pharmaceutical, a Puerto Rico-based contract manufacturer, on Mova's longstanding relationship with top drug marketer Merck.
