Ciba rolls out new line of polyolefin stabilizers. (Ciba Specialty Chemicals)

CIBA SPECIALTY CHEMICALS is launching a new line of Irganox polyolefin stabilizers intended to replace conventional phenolic and phosphite antioxidants. The products will join Ciba's line of high molecular weight antioxidants, synergistic combinations of phenolic antioxidants and highperformance phosphites and synergistic hindered amine/hydroxyl amine systems.

In a briefing last week, the company said the new stabilizers will be manufactured at its Mcintosh, Ala., plant and sold under the name HP Products. The HP line is designed to be used with a range of polymers, including engineering resins such as polycarbonate, and alloys of PC and polyethylene styrene.
