Ivax Gets Drug OK

Chemical Market Reporter, March, 1997

IVAX CORPORATION, Miami, Fla., has been granted final marketing approval for etodolac and acyclovir by US Food & Drug Administration. Ivax says it has already begun offering 400 mg tablets of etodolac, the generic equivalent of Lodine (Wyeth-Ayerst), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory. Ivax also intends to begin marketing acyclovir in 400 mg and 800 mg tablets when that drug's patent runs out April 22.

Acyclovir is the generic equivalent of Zovirax (Glaxo).
