Rhodia, Mitsubishi Are Latest Investors In Pure Chemicals

RHODIA INC. and the Texas Ultra Pure Inc. (TXUP) subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical America Inc. have inked a definitive agreement to launch an ultra pure sulfuric acid plant at Rhodia's Houston complex.

Under the agreement, TXUP will build an ultra pure sulfuric acid plant using Mitsubishi's proprietary technology. Rhodia will operate the plant using feedstock sulfuric acid sourced from its own adjacent Houston plant, which also produces ammonium hydroxide and other ultra pure process chemicals.
