RHODIA IS AIMING to take advantage of its close research links with the life sciences operations of Rhone-Poulenc to build a strong position in specialty chemicals, particularly in ingredients for personal and home care products.

Rhone-Poulenc separated its life science and chemicals operations at the beginning of the year by creating Rhodia as an independent specialty chemicals entity, in which it plans to float 30 percent of its shares by the end of this month.
