Rhodia Stays in Food Phosphates.

RHODIA SAYS it remains committed to the European food phosphates market, even though it has sold its stake in Europhos, its European joint venture with Prayon for manufacturing specialty phosphates. The company will continue to market food phosphates made by Europhos, now fully owned by Prayon, which has two plants in France and Belgium having a total annual capacity of 95,000 metric tons.

"The sale of our stake in Europhos was in line with our divestment strategy," says a Rhodia spokesperson. "We will nonetheless remain a major player in specialty phosphates in Europe, and we will continue to be a producer in the US."
