PVS Buys Sulfuric Acid Plant

Chemical Market Reporter, September, 1998

PVS CHEMICALS GMBH, a newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary of PVS Chemicals Inc., has acquired a 100,000-ton-per-year sulfuric acid plant in Kelheim, Germany, from Sud-Chemie AG. PVS says the transaction is a key step in the company's overseas expansion. The facility produces several grades of sulfuric acid along with iron oxide and electricity cogeneration.

The plant processes sulfur containing waste streams and burns sulfur and pyrites for acids production.
