EPA Registers FMC's Aim Herbicide.(Brief Article)

FMC CORPORATION has received Environ mental Protection Agency registration for its Aim brand post-emergence corn herbicide. Aim is the first reduced-risk herbicide to be registered by EPA, according to FMC. Aim contains the active ingredient carfentrazone-ethyl. In 1997, EPA granted an expedited review for products containing this ingredient because they were classified as reduced risk herbicides.

"Carfentrazone-ethyl is an inhibitor of protoporphyrinogen oxidase.
