Zeneca's Nolvadex Gets FDA Approval.

Chemical Market Reporter, November, 1998

ZENECA PHARMACEUTICAL has received approval from Food and Drug Administration for Nolvadex (tamoxifen citrate) for reducing breast cancer in women at high risk for developing the disease.

Zeneca says that the new indication makes Nolvadex the first and only drug to be approved for reducing the incidence of breast cancer. Nolvadex, a hormonal treatment for early and advanced breast cancer, was first introduced in 1973. FDA has also approved a second new indication for Nolvadex for the reduction of contralateral breast cancer. Roche Laboratories will co-promote Nolvadex in the US.
