Hoechst, Rhodia Divide Fiber Venture.

HOECHST DO BRASIL SA and Rhodia SA are dividing the production facilities of Fairway Filamentos, a Brazilian joint venture that produces synthetic fibers. Hoechst, which has 12,000 metric tons of polyester resin capacity at its factory in Paulina, state of Sao Paulo, will take over the polyester production assets of Fairway.

Rhodia's Rhodiaco Industrias Quimicas Ltda., itself a joint venture with Amoco and Propex do Brasil, will take over the nylon and other fiber assets of Fairway. Rhodiaco has 134,000 metric tons of terephthalic acid capacity at its Paulina, Sao Paulo, facility.
