Dow Executive Urges Industry To Focus on the Environment.

CHEMICAL ENGINEERS are urged to have "360-degree vision," focusing on environmental and social needs as well as the economic picture. This is the message from Lawrence J. Washington, Jr., Dow Chemical Company's vice-president of environment, health and safety, human resources and public affairs.

Mr. Washington, speaking before a recent Houston meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, encouraged his audience to develop broad capabilities to conduct business in the future.
