Sud-Chemie Acquires Solvay's SEC Business.(stationary emission control)

SUD-CHEMIE has strengthened its position in the market for catalysts for air and gas purification. The company has taken over Solvay's catalysts business for stationary emission control (SEC). The takeover includes the technology and production know-how for Solvay's EniCat catalysts, long established in the industrial waste gas purification market.

The Solvay operation, based near Hannover, Germany, will be integrated into Sud-Chemie's global air and gas purification business at Hanau, Germany. At its plant in Moosburg, near Hanau, Sud-Chemie has just started production of SEC catalysts it acquired from Degussa last year. A range of industries use SEC catalysts for waste gas purification.
