Chloralkali ECU Pricing Recovers In Most Markets.

Chlorine prices have risen by $100 per ton since April; now caustic begins to move. THE CHLORALKALI market is tightening, leading to improvements for both chlorine and caustic soda. A strong vinyl chain continues to be the main driver of the industry's recovery. However, planned and unplanned outages and even the weather have contributed to chloralkali's recent turnaround.

During the past month, the chloralkali industry has seen price increases for both chlorine and caustic soda. The latest increase came on the caustic soda side, as OxyChem led a $25 per ton increase which was supported by most major producers.
