E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & Co. has set a goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions to 65 percent below their 1990 levels by 2010. In addition, the company plans to keep its energy use constant in the same time frame.

By 2010, DuPont will also use renewable resources to meet 10 percent of its global energy requirements, according to Dennis H. Reilley, the company's executive vice-president and chief operating officer. Mr. Reilley says DuPont has decided to meet these targets despite lingering scientific doubts about predictions of global climate changes.
