Aventis Cuts Rhodia Stake.(Brief Article)

THE US FEDERAL Trade Commission gave preliminary approval to the proposed merger of Germany's Hoeclist and France's Rhone-Poulenc into Aventis on the condition that the two companies divest certain cellulose acetate and direct thrombin inhibitors markets. This includes their stake in Rhodia, which Aventis will have to divest its interest in to a level of no more than 5 percent.
