E. I. DU PONT de Nemours & Co. and the Institut Pasteur de Lille have signed an agreement to expand their joint activities in the areas of nutrition and health, say published reports. The companies have agreed to pursue a range of projects, starting with the creation of an electronic network of genetic fingerprints of milk bacteria used in the food industry.

The two will also collaborate in the development of databases and information networks on other organisms that play a role in food safety, the environment and public health matters.
