SHAREHOLDERS OF both Monsanto Company and Pharmacia & Upjohn have approved the proposed merger of the two companies. The merger is expected to close on or before April 1. The new company, Pharmacia Corporation, will have its corporate and pharmaceutical business headquarters in Peapack, N.J.
The agricultural business headquarters will be in St. Louis and will retain the Monsanto name.
