Lawmakers Mull Measures to Ease Imports of Prescription Drugs.(Brief Article)

LAWMAKERS IN both chambers of Congress are still trying to reconcile language in a long-stalled spending bill that would allow the importation of lower-priced FDA-approved prescription drugs from Canada, Mexico and other countries, congressional sources said last week. Three amendments included in different versions of the Department of Agriculture's fiscal 2001 appropriations bill would make it easier to import prescription drugs from countries that control their prices.
