SANOFI-SYNTHELABO has purchased Eli Lilly and Co.'s share of its US-based joint venture Sanofi Lilly Oncology LLC, recovering full rights to oxaliplatin in the US. The two companies formed a joint venture in April 1999 to register and market oxaliplatin in combination with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)/leucovorin (LV) as a first-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer in the US.
