The new Degussa seeks to double specialty chemical sales by 2004. Degussa AG finally started business in February, around nine months after its parent E.ON announced plans for merging Degussa-Hulls and SKW Trostberg into the new company. With annual specialties sales of E8.7 billion ($8.1 billion), Degussa AG is one of the biggest specialty chemicals producers in the world, behind ICI but ahead of Rohm and Haas, DSM, Rhodia, Clariant and Ciba.
