THE QUESTION of how well prepared the US chemical industry is for terrorist attacks on its production and transportation facilities arose at a recent chemical industry meeting in Texas. Recent events, such as the Oklahoma City bombing and other terrorist actions, underscore the need to incorporate such threats into risk management plans, particularly for producers in the visible petrochemical-producing region in the Houston area.
