Dow to Expand Vinyl Chloride Monomer Operations.(Dow Chemical Company )(Brief Article)

Dow Chemical Company will raise the vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) capacity of its plant in Oyster Creek, Tex., by 225,000 metric tons annually by the end of the year. The Oyster Creek expansion will make Dow the global leader in VCM capacity with a nameplate of 2.7 million metric tons across its sites in the US, Canada and Germany.

SRI International rates Dow's VCM capacity at Oyster Creek at 2.03 billion pounds (around 920,000 metric tons).
