ATTORNEY GENERAL John Ashcroft warned last week that there is a "clear and present danger" of additional terrorist attacks, including those possibly involving the transportation of hazardous chemicals. He told the Senate Judiciary Committee that roughly 20 people have been charged with trying to obtain fraudulent hazardous materials transportation licenses, and some of those arrested may have connections to the suicide hijackings.
"Terrorism is a clear and present danger to Americans today," Mr. Ashcroft declared. "Intelligence information available to the FBI indicates a potential for additional terrorist incidents." He says some of those detained had unlawfully obtained or tried to obtain licenses that would enable them to drive trucks...
