AROMA CHEMICALS AND OTHER SPECIALTIES Rhodia's perfumery and specialties businesses are effecting price increases around 10 percent for some of its specialties products and aroma chemicals. These increases will be effective January 1, 2002, with some differences according to the geographic zones.
Within the specialties business, hydroquinone, paramethoxyphenol (PMP), methyl ether hydroquinone (MEHQ), tertiary butyl catechol (TBC) and veratrole are concerned. For the flavors and fragrances market, the products include Rhovanil Extra Pure (vanillin), Rhodiarome Extra Pure (ethylvanillin), Rhodiascent Extra Pure (coumarin), salicylaldehyde, salicylic acid and a few derivatives, and Rhodiantal (isobornylcyclohexanol).
